How it all works:

The system was designed and incentivized to essentially run itself...



• Updates to each listing can be done by the businesses themselves, by signing in with their Google account.
  
  
• Each listing can be owned and overseen by a different admin, who can set the ad rate to anything they wish.
  
  
• Advertisers contact admins directly, direct trade and negotiation is allowed.
  
  
• Ad spaces are sold in annual increments and can be bought for up to 5 year periods to lock in the rate.
  
  
• 100% of the ad revenue stays with the admins.
  
  
• Sterba makes money on a 2nd ad that appears after the 1st one is sold.
  
  
• When there are two ads, one on top and one on the bottom, they swap places each time the page is viewed.
  
  
• Anyone can essentially run their own online marketing business on top of the Sterba platform.
  
  
• There are no startup costs, no monthly costs, no transaction fees.
  
  
• Businesses may choose to participate with no desire for income, but simply to use the created ad spaces to self promote. Hourly employees may thus be utilized during slow times of the day to create content to carry free advertising.

• Editing a listing, either as the business being listed or the admin overseeing it, is very easy, no technical knowledge is necessary.
  
  
• Upon approval, anyone can become an admin.
  
  
• With a little experience, a well developed listing can be created in about 15-30 minutes, depending on complexity and the amount of data and photos available.
  
  
• The admins may also give out an invitation code, with which businesses may create their own listing by themselves. Such listings have to be approved and categorized by the issuing admin before being publicly visible.
  
  
• The admins are responsible for the quality of the content on their listings.
  
  
• The admin of each listing has the ability to categorize it in the appropriate category.
  
  
• Admins may also work with or employ editors who work underneath their supervision, who are tasked with specific listings or categories, but cannot change the ad rates and are not contacted by the advertisers.

• Over time, admins may control thousands of listings, generating substantial revenue even if a small percentage of listings carry paid advertisements.
  
  
• Virtually any topic can be covered: dentists, attorneys, musicians, local farmers, neighborhood contractors, government offices, schools, teachers, car dealerships, etc. Personal pages are allowed as well.

• Ownership of individual listings and categories is transferrable between different admins and can be traded or sold.
  
  
• Entire admin accounts, with all of the listings they control, may also be sold as an ongoing business to other interested parties.

• Each listing has to be visited by the admin responsible for it every two years, just to check the data, and to make sure the business being listed is still around, etc.
  
  
• Listings which have not been visited by their admins for an extended period of time will be deemed "abandoned" and will display a message. Any other admin may then take ownership of such listing. Unclaimed abandoned listings get deleted from the system automatically after a few months.

• Each business can only have one listing, duplicates will be deleted.
